Explorer yacht ‘Horizon’ launched
Tolkamer, 20/02/2026 – Today, the Horizon was launched with a beautiful ceremony and various notable guests, who came to see this important milestone event in the build of Leapher’s first project. The design called ‘Navix 60’, was developed by Cor D. Rover and the engineering of the project was done by O7 Designers. The hull was build by Passer SIDC. We are proud that with the collaboration of these partners, such a luxury explorer is being realized.
Executing a new brand identity for AmaWaterways
Tolkamer, 18/02/2026 – Recently “AmaWaterways” Launched a fresh new brand identity, encouraging River Cruisers to ‘Follow Their Own Current’. Via the management company Rivertech, Shipyard De Hoop received various orders to help rebranding these beautiful vessels. Works are ongoing at our yard, including new names and new fresh colours.
Horizon in preparation for launching
Tolkamer, 07/01/2026 – The 61 meter yacht Horizon is taking shape on the slipway. Last month the yacht was transported lower in the slipway with a combination of many wheels, it was a very special transport indeed. At this moment all preparations are ongoing for the launching of this special explorer yacht.
“Firenze” hull has arrived
Tolkamer, 05/12/2025 – After a long journey, which started in Split (Croatia) the Firenze has arrived at our yard in Tolkamer. This iconic 40 meter yacht was build in 1978 by CRN for famous actress Virna Lisi. The first part of her transport was on the deck of yacht transport vessel “Deo Volente”, which unloaded her in Rotterdam. The second part of the trip, she was towed aside inland transport vessel “Deo Volente”. The first stages of a large refit were executed in Croatia, in the coming year this refit shall be further completed by Shipyard De Hoop.
‘Lekker 44’ hull almost ready
Tolkamer, 28/10/2025 – The Lekker 44 hull is really taking shape. At the same time the second project, a “Lekker 38-hull” has started as well. Both projects are executed by Legend Yachts, a company affiliated with Yachting Concept Europe.

Tolkamer, 20/06/2025 – In a new partnership with Legend yachts, our partner Passer SIDC has started to assemble the aluminium hull of a 44ft Lekker Boats. The works, taking place in De Hoop’s former Leerschool, are expected to be completed in the next few months. Already a second hull assembly package is awaiting to commence.
Special project @ Shipyard De Hoop
Tolkamer 02/05/2025 – It looks like a UFO has landed on our yard, but actually this is a basin for forest-firefighting. De Hoop’s long time supplier Buitink Technologies has developed this for one of their clients and needed some help with testing the basin. With a diameter of 20 meter, and a side-height of 4,5 meter this impressive waterbag holds over 1000m3 of water, quite a swimming pool indeed. Further models are expected to be tested in the near future.
Works finished on the damaged “Speranza”
Tolkamer, 02/02/2024 – Today the completely restored inland cargo vessel Speranza was returned to her owner. The vessel that, following a collision, sank in October last year took in water in the interior/living quarters of the owner. Furthermore steel hull repairs where carried out at our yard in Tolkamer. The ship has now commenced her works. (note. Speranza means Hoop in Spanish….it was meant to be we did this job..)
Rebuild project “Firenze”
Tolkamer / Split, 27/11/2024 – With our client and partner Marine Construct’ we have initiated a collaboration to complete the conversion and rebuild of the legendary yacht ‘Firenze’. This luxury yacht was originally build by CRN in 1978 and has a rich history. She was (amongst others) owned by Italian actress Virna Lisi. Moreover, at that time she had an affair with mr. Frank Sinatra who was a regular visitor on this ship. Currently, the technical refit is in an advanced stage and the further interior and exterior works are commencing. The ship shall be executed as luxury charter vessel for up to 12 guests. The balancing act between keeping the legacy whilst installing a interior to today’s modern standards of luxury and comfort is a key aim. To ensure this is done at a very professional level, parties have engaged a collaboration with with Cor D. Rover Design. The project is aimed for its reveal / presentation in the spring of 2026.
Leapher’s project well on its way
Tolkamer, 22/10/2024 – With the hull fully assembled, Leapher Shipbuilders has started to build a large sheltertent around the hull of the yacht Horizon. In the next months the fairing and painting works shall start, as well as the other stages for outfitting. The yacht is scheduled to be launched in the last quarter of 2025.
Leapher Shipbuilding starts lease of build site / yard terrain
Tolkamer, 01/07/2024 – With the hull for the Horizon project now finished, the lease of the build location is taken over from hull builder Passer SIDC to Leapher Shipbuilding. All together Leapher is now renting about 1/3 of the entire yard terrain in Lobith-Tolkamer.
De Hoop completes repair for Phoenix
Tolkamer, 22/02/2024 – After an internal fire caused severe damage tot the galley and store areas of the Rhein Prinzessin Shipyard De Hoop was contacted to do a speedy repair, so the vessel could timely start her works in the new season. Through good collaborations with our local partner companies, the project was finished successfully and well in time.
Refit on combi vessel W. de Beijer completed
Tolkamer, 01/01/2025 – De Hoop has just completed to replace the cargohold bottoms of both parts of the inland cargo vessel W. de Beijer. This is the 4th of such refit projects now. Earlier the inland vessels Pegasus as well as Marcellino underwent the same bottom renewal.
New yacht design and business development
Tolkamer, 01/11/2023 – De Hoop has been contracted to support the development of a new business, based on a new and innovative luxury dayboat concept. With the help of Cor D. Rover design and Studio Delta for the engineering the entire ship and business concept is under development now. Passer SIDC shall build the hull and part of the yard in Tolkamer is foreseen to be developed for the outfitting of the hulls. The total concept including the new brand is planned to be presented early next year.
Leapher Shipbuilding starts 60 meter hull assembly on De Hoop’s yard
Tolkamer, 16/05/2023 – With the laying of the first section block, the keellay, the hull assembly has begun of the 60 meter Horizon yacht. Whereas the main builder is Leapher Shipbuiding, the hull is build by our long time partner, Passer SIDC, who has for this reason leased a part of the Lobith yard. In the next 12 months the hull shall be assembled on our largest slipway (60 x 200 m).
De Hoop’s Open Shipyard concept
Tolkamer, 01/01/2022 – Over the last year Shipyard De Hoop has been approached by various parties who want to execute their project on the yard’s terrain. To facilitate such, we have now developed the Open Shipyard concept. Following a strict schedule of applicable rules and regulations, the combined activities can allow professional parties to have such collaboration with us on the existing 10 hectare yard terrain in Lobith-Tolkamer. For this, we have a team of experienced and supporting staff and also the possibility for equipment rental.
DE HOOP SELL’S PARTIALLY FINISHED HULL TO CONCORDIA DAMEN
Tolkamer 15/05/2021 – Shipyard De Hoop has sold the partially finished hull for a 135 meter river cruise vessel, this hull was number 495 was under construction when the original client cancelled the contract. Concordia Damen is planning to finish the hull elsewhere and find another customer for it. Simultaneously with the sale De Hoop received an order for launching the half finished vessel.
DE HOOP LAUNCHES INLAND TANKER HULL
Tolkamer 11/12/2021 – Today at 11AM the 110 meter hull for the Parsifal tanker was launched successfully. With this De Hoop has delivered the hull to her client Concordia Damen. Later today this hull shall be towed to Werkendam where the vessel shall be finished for her end client.
KEEL LAID FOR PARSIFAL TANKER
Tolkamer, 03/02/2021 – De Hoop Lobith lays keel for Parsifal tanker. The hull ordered by Concordia Damen will be further assembled in the coming months. Delivery will take place later this year.
NEW KD ENTERTAINMENT VESSEL ‘RHEIN GALAXIE’ PERFORMS ON RIVER TRIALS
Tolkamer, 24/08/2020 – Today at 13PM the new KD ship, Rhein Galaxie has commenced her river trials programme. Already on this first sail the vessel seemed to perform well. Besides testing the good and sound working of all propulsion and navigation systems, a good speeds and low noise and vibration levels where measured. These are promising results for a true next generation event ship.
