Shipyard De Hoop is not only a shipbuilder, we also provide concept-design
and engineering services for third parties. Practical knowledge and
shipbuilding experience have always been the core of our business. Shipyard
De Hoop engineers since 1886 and combines the engineering data, knowledge
and experience of three yards and some 1500 build vessels (build rights
Heusden/Houma/Lobith - see "History").
Today, our focus is on concept engineering. Our modular database contains
more than 3000 basic ship designs. Nevertheless, we still take a clean sheet of
paper for each new customer. We strongly believe that each project has its own
particular goals and objectives and that each client has his/her own particular
wishes and demands. By developing custom concepts we usually aim to achieve
a 10% - 15% better solution (i.e. faster, cheaper, more capacity, etc.) than the
existing/competitive designs.
